Haircuts

For most people, finding your best hair is a never-ending quest. Hollywood Beach Salon - Spa - Boutique offers high-quality haircuts for both women and men, as well as children, from highly trained, professional stylists. Here you will be sure to get an up-to-date, on-trend style that's right for you and your lifestyle.

Short Hairstyles for Women

Short Wavy Bob -- For women who want short hair, the bob is re emerging as one of the more significant hairstyle trends. It's seen as a combo of "edgy" but pretty with just the right amount of androgyny to be totally hip. If you are not into the classic bob cut, try something new with a wavy cut. Bob cuts and hair waves really complement each other . There is nothing more "cool-girl chic" like "just rolled out of bed" cut.

Blunt Cut -- If your hair is on the thinner side, but you like it short, you likely have suffered from bad pixie cuts and hair never staying in place and/or losing volume.  If this is you, you may want do consider a blunt cut. Blunt cuts are a great way to frame your face, accentuating your strong features.  The are also trendy and popular now.

Low Bun -- The "bad girl" of hair styles, some days you just can’t resist the convenience and look of the "messy bun." With short hair, it is unlikely that the "high bun." will work for you.  So go low!  A lower messy bun can achieve the same simple styling look as a high top knot.  It has the added benefit of making your locks appear thicker, and creates a soft, elegant style.

Short and Straight -- Short, straight hair with a part in the middle is a great classic look. Its a little bit retro, but you can customize the 90’s style with a platinum blonde coloring treatment and a blunt bob cut. This look is very striking to look at, is flattering for any woman who likes her hair short,  and just exudes style and sophistication.

Pixie Cut -- When a woman has naturally thick hair, cutting the hair short can be trying. When not done properly by a skilled technician is can go very wrong.  You may end up with a strange looking bowl looking haircut. Or technicians know that the key to creating short styles with naturally thick hair is creating texture and layers, and steering clear of any sort of blunt cut .  Where a blunt cut will add bulk, a layered and textured pixie cut will take some the weight out of your hair, and allow it easily sit and flow.

Twists --  Adding just a few twists are also a great technique to give your short hairstyle some added interest.  Its a great look, but it also protects your hair as well . The twists themselves, need no additional styling and will give your hair a chance to repair itself from damage incurred from coloring treatments, dryer heat, etc.

Bangs -- With the resurgence of short hair style, bangs are making a comeback.  The look is easy to style and very simple. Bangs don’t need a lot of maintenance, besides an occasional trimming. Bangs work well with short hair particularly well as it frames your face, and draws attention to your facial features. Additionally, bangs can give the illusion of slimming if you have a more full face.

Short Thin Hair -- Thinner hair really benefits from a short style -- pixie cuts, bobs, faux hawks, undercuts, and asymmetric styles, were all made for thin hair.  With a shorter cut you are taking advantage of a great way to not only create the appearance  of hair thickness but also, to actually allow your hair to thicken naturally, and become healthier. This is due to less need for frequent styling.  As such, your hair will begin to grow  faster, and thicken up over time.

Short Thick Hair -- Many women would take pause at the suggestion that they join the short hair trend, particularly with  naturally thick hair. But, thick hair works very well with short styles.   Shortening up can also be a great way to take some weight out of your hair for the warmer months. Again, the secret to short, thick hair is having your stylist create texture.

Short Curly Hair --  If you find yourself feeling like your longer curls are weighing you down with home care maintenance and everyday styling, you should consider going short!  Shortening your hair makes the curls more manageable.  You will also find that the styling opportunities for short curly hair are nearly endless.

Medium Length Hairstyles for Women

1990’s mid-part Ponytail  --  This was a celebrity favorite in the 1990s. The style is perfect for woman with medium (not long and not short) length hair. Medium hair tends to be the easiest length to  pull back.  It also tends to sit more nicely and feels more effortless than a ponytail with long heavy hair.

What is a Professional Hairstyle?  --  When women are in the professional workplace, your hair often says quite a bit about you and your sense of professionalism. Leave the extremely long hair to young girls and “hippy chicks.”  You want to also avoid really short hair which can foster either a rebellious or an older impression with others. The safe way to go in any professional setting is to stick with medium length hairstyle.

The Lob  --  The top knot style and the lob cut are such a classic combination that they will seem like they were made for each other. The lob is currently very popular,  and paired with a top knot it looks amazing.  The top knot will also add the appearance of extra volume, which is helpful if your hair is lacking in body.

The Asymmetrical Lob Cut  --  If you feel like an edgy looking cut, but are afraid to go too short,  an asymmetrical cut might work well for you.  For instance an A-line cut is very flattering, and less sharp than some other asymmetric styles. This cut is easy to grow out.   And if you have hairstyle remorse, it can still be made into a ponytail.

Deep Side Part  --  The inclusion of a deep side part is a great way to give the classic bob a new spin.  Not to say that the bob cut is not still very much a popular style, but you can take it one step further by adding a deep side part and combing the top side over. The result is a sleek and sophisticated style which works well for casual daytimes as well as for formal nights out.

Vintage Curls  --  Men (and some women) have long considered long hair sexy, but don’t overlook the appeal of medium-length hairstyles. Channel your inner Marilyn Monroe with bouncy mid-length curls. Your stylist can style your locks using a thick curling wand, and by brushing your locks out to make voluminous waves, styled to one side.

The Lob  --  The lob cut is iconic.  More recently the lob has become more popular as an easy and laid back style.  lob cuts require practically no styling,  but offers the wearer unending hairstyling opportunities. It is both trendy and timeless, both mature and young.

Long Length Hairstyles for Women

French Braids  --  This is a fierce but great look that is currently very popular. Take advantage of a style that is both fashionable and practical -- chic but lets you get stuff done. These braids work for you at the gym, at the club, shopping, even sleeping in them is no problem.

The Updo  --  Don’t discard the idea of an updo just because of your long hair.  From low rolled buns to curled up styles you can have a great “dressy” hairstyle regardless of your hair length.  You can also have a half up / half down style, which looks great and can be dressy or casual.

Long Straight Hair --  Sometimes simpler is better with long hair.  And there is nothing more simple, or more chic than smooth straight hair. We recommend the application of a hair mask to tame any split ends or flyaways. We will dry your hair completely, section by section using a flat brush. We might also employ a minor amount of an anti-frizz product through both your hair’s mid-section and at the hair ends. A touch of hair spray can add a little sheen.

Senegalese Twists  --  This is a good protective style that is still fun and practical for summer and the beach.  The rope-like twists can be accented by long hair extensions.  This is an on trend and chic style.

Undercutting  --  Using an undercut can make your style a little more edgy without losing too much in the length of your hair.  While it is possible to undercut your hair at the back or the sides,  we recommend undercutting one side. This aggressive but feminine style generally includes shaving your hair at one side with remaining length combed over the head, and in the opposite direction.

Hair Treatments

At Hollywood Beach Salon - Spa - Boutique,  we offer all of the top salon hair treatments that will restore the body, shine and improve the health of your hair instantly. Additionally, we offer a wide range of hair coloring services.

The Keratin Smoothing Treatment is also known as the "Brazilian Blowout." Hair relaxers and keratin treatments can transform curly hair into straight, which often lasts three months.  Keratin treatments are ideal if you have curly or frizzy hair that just won’t quit and you want smooth results without the work of using flat irons and styling products at home.

Hot Oil Treatment   Our hot oil treatments provide instant shine and seal the cuticle, resulting in silky hair that feels nourished and smooth. Typically left on the hair for about 12-20 minutes and then rinsed out, this professional salon hair treatment can do wonders for dry hair and damaged hair in no time.  It’s best used for dry and colored hair types which benefits from hot oil treatments.

Color & Toning Treatments  Hollywood Beach Salon - Spa - Boutique offers a variety of different hair coloring techniques(1) Permanent:  Receive a professional hair color service performed by one of our talented experts to cover gray or to lighten or darken your natural hair color. (2)  Semi: Are you looking for a new color, but not ready to totally commit? Consult with your stylist and ask your stylist if semi-permanent is right for you.  (3)  Specialty: Make a bold change with an on-trend color choice, including dimensional color, multiple colors, ombre/sombre, balayage, block color, color melt, and more.  (4)  Gray Blending: You can reduce the amount of gray in your hair while maintaining a more natural look with this popular service.

You don't have to limit your hair color choices to one color, consider using one of the many color-blending techniques that can give your style a dynamic boost. For example, you can fade from dark brown to auburn, create a sun-kissed look with highlights, or add low-maintenance color with an ombré.  Additionally, toning treatments are used to correct the color of the hair. Perhaps your blonde got a little too golden once the foils were removed, or you red has faded which is common to that color.   A toning treatment can be applied after the initial color service to perfect your hair color, or in-between a full color service as maintenance. Usually applied at the shampoo bowl, a toning treatment is left on the hair anywhere from 15-20 minutes and then rinsed to perfection. Toning treatments can extend your hair color, prevent fading, and correct a multitude of common coloring problems. Talk to our artists and get an in-salon toning treatment rather than experiment with boxed color at home.  We believe you will be much happier!

Hair Extensions   If you weren’t blessed with long, flowing locks of hair, and want that look, hair extensions might be a solution for you. Finding the right extension method will depend on budget, preference, and hair type.  You can choose from human hair extensions (made out of real, human hair from top to bottom, collected from a donor) or synthetic hair extensions (made out of various synthetic, blended fibers and contain no actual human hair).
